• My philosophy

Most of us are navigating a world that was not built for us. Almost everyone possesses some unique aspect of their identity that is not fully embraced by the world. Consequently, we can form negative beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world that hinder us from reaching our full potential. I believe in taking a non-judgmental and evidence-based approach to helping people become aware of and challenge these thoughts and/or find ways to cope with them by turning their volume down. I offer a challenging and supportive atmosphere to help people embrace the unique aspects of themselves, achieve their therapy goals, and successfully navigate a sometimes invalidating world.

  • My Education and Experience

I completed my undergraduate degree (B.A.) in Psychology at California State University, Long Beach. I earned my M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology from the University of Miami.

Subsequently, I was selected to complete my clinical psychology internship in Behavioral Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Throughout my training, I have secured over $1 million in grant funding and been an author on several peer-reviewed publications in the area of behavioral medicine and public health.

I have been seeing clients for over 10 years in a number of different outpatient settings. Through this work, I have utilized a variety of techniques including CBT, DBT, CPT, ACT and mindfulness to help clients make progress toward their therapy goals. Since no two people present the same even if they have similar diagnoses, I create unique treatment plans that help clients find joy in a way that is relevant and meaningful for them.
