What is this coaching about?
Disempowerment stress is the unique mental load many Black gay and bisexual men carry—not just from racism or homophobia alone, but from how these systems overlap. This stress can show up in ways that look like anxiety, depression, shame, or avoidance.
This coaching series is built around Courageously You—a structured, culturally-informed approach that blends psychology with liberation work. Whether you're starting with the self-paced 4-week program, diving into the full course, joining a small group, or working one-on-one, the goal is the same:
to help you live more freely and authentically by learning how to shift thoughts, regulate feelings, and take empowered action.
What can I expect?
You’ll start with real-life examples—from dating rejection to code-switching at work—to understand how disempowerment stress plays out. Then you’ll learn concrete tools to break the cycle using a 4-part framework:
Recognize the self-reinforcing cycle of disempowerment
Reframe disempowering thoughts
Regulate distressing emotions
Respond with empowered action
Expect coaching that’s grounded in evidence-based strategies (like CBT), but also attuned to your lived experience as a Black man navigating a world that hasn’t always made space for you.
Is this for me?
This is for you if any of these resonate:
You’ve been told to “just be confident,” but deep down, you still feel like you have to hide who you are
You feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, avoidance, shame, or emotional shutdown
You’ve achieved a lot on paper—but still question whether you’re truly living as you
You want support that gets it—without having to over-explain your identity, your community, or your culture
Whether you’re brand-new to this work or already deep in your healing, this space is designed for Black gay and bi men ready to claim their full self.
